Vietnam-China Higher education Forum

On April 27th, 2018, the Vietnam-China Higher education Forum was co-held by USSH and the Global Education Services Company (GES) with the participation of 30 leading Chinese universities. Information and initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese universities were introduced and discussed.

USSH awarded Certificate for completing quality culture development project by ASEAN-QA

On March 23rd, at the closing workshop of the ASEAN-QA Program in the period of 2016 - 2018 in Bangkok (Thailand), USSH was awarded the certificate for completing the project "From self-assessment to developing a quality culture at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities".

Introduction to new major: Southeast Asian Studies

Currently, there are two undergraduate courses provided by USSH's Faculty of Oriental Studies: Bachelor of Oriental Studies and Bachelor of Southeast Asian Studies. Each major now has its own code and degree module. Southeast Asian Studies is no longer a subordinate field Oriental Studies, but an independent major and students must apply if they want to enroll in this major after the national university entrance exam.

Second degree-granting ceremony for PhD and MA candidates in 2017

Despite difficulties, in the year 2016-2017 the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) continued to gain achievements in all fields. With its educational philosophy of liberalism, the entire University spared no effort to implement the strategy of developing into a leading research-based university in Vietnam, incrementally elevating itself into an equal of prestigious regional and international universities in the world. To this end, the University determined that quality is its focal point. In ensuring educational quality, it devised crucial measures such as renewing governance, strengthening communications and internationalization and improving services. From June 21 to June 25, 2017, the Vietnamese Students’ Association, Ho Chi Minh City; Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology co-organized the 2017 International Student Science Forum (ISSF 2017) aimed at providing opportunities for exchanging academic knowledge, sharing creativity, and strengthening the solidarity between Vietnamese students and international students including Vietnamese students studying overseas.
