Một là, hệ thống hóa quan điểm, chủ trương và sự chỉ đạo của Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam về phát triển YDCT từ năm 1996 đến năm 2015.
Hai là, nhận định, đánh giá ưu điểm, hạn chế trong hoạt động lãnh đạo phát triển YDCT của Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam từ năm 1996 đến năm 2015.
Ba là, đúc rút kinh nghiệm từ quá trình Đảng lãnh đạo phát triển YDCT từ năm 1996 đến năm 2015.
Bốn là, cung cấp những dữ liệu khoa học làm cơ sở cho việc hoạch định chủ trương chính sách của Đảng và Nhà nước nhằm tiếp tục phát triển YDCT để chăm sóc sức khỏe.
Năm là, cung cấp nguồn tài liệu tham khảo trong nghiên cứu lịch sử YDCT và giảng dạy môn Lịch sử Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam.

- Luận án cung cấp cho người đọc một khối lượng tài liệu tham khảo phong phú, có tính hệ thống về quá trình Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam lãnh đạo phát triển y dược cổ truyền từ năm 1996 đến năm 2015.
